Little Bow Resort Drinking Water
Samples have been taken by Alberta Environment from the water plant at
Little Bow Resort for microcystin, the Blue Green Algae toxin. The
results for the waterworks were raw water (0.09 ug/L) and the treated
water (0.09 ug/L). The drinking water guideline is less than 1.5 ug/L.
As a result of the testing from last week the drinking water from the
Little Bow water plant is safe to drink as it is well within the
acceptable guideline for the toxin based on Canadian Drinking Water
Standards. Testing will continue this week.
The raw water intake for the plant is out about 25'
and at the bottom of the lake. The blue green algae is more of a surface water
problem.
