The Alberta Health Services Blue Green Algae Advisory lifted!
Blue-green algae advisories lifted for five Calgary Zone bodies of water.
November 8, 2013
CALGARY - Recent weather has cooled water temperatures in lakes to such an extent
that blue-green algae is no longer a concern, including in the waters of five
Calgary Zone lakes/reservoirs, which had previously been placed under blue-green
algae advisory.
As such, effective immediately, Alberta Health Services has lifted the blue-green
algae advisories for:
* Turner Valley Reservoir
* Travers Reservoir
* Cochrane Lake
* Severn Lake
* Eagle Lake
Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning
and delivering health supports and services for more than 3.9 million adults and
children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality
health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
