Dec. 28R.I.P. Murray Scott!
We are very sorry to inform the Little Bow Resort populace of the passing of Murray Scott on Dec. 25, 2012. The funeral will be held on Jan. 2, 2013 at 2PM at The Calgary Crematorium, 3219 4 Street N.W.

Also a big Thank You to all the volunteers that helped fight the fire and contributed water and food to fire fighters and helped protect the adjacent homes and to all the other people that contributed so much in this tragedy! !

A scheduled power outage will happen Tuesday March 27th from 9am to 1 pm. We were notified by Fortis.
Please limit sewer usage during this outage!

Mar. 22Young Anglers Fishing Tournament!
Alberta Marine is hosting its 7th annual Angler Young Angler not for profit fishing tournament at Little Bow Provincial Park on Sunday, June 17, 2012. This tournament is to introduce and educate young anglers to competitive sport fishing in a fun way. It is a one day event that includes an official weigh in, a BBQ, and lots of prizes for everyone, including the grand prize of a boat, motor and trailer. The winner also gets to advance to nationals in Kenora, Ontario for a chance to win a trip for 4 to Disney World.

Due to extreme strong winds and very little snow the FIRE BAN will go on as of 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 30th and will stay on until furthur notice!

Jan. 15Fishing Derby 2012!
2012 Family Day Fishing Derby - February 18 to 20, 2012
Ice fishing is starting again this year, but due to the warm weather, the strong ice has not arrived! Fishermen are waiting for some cold weather to firm up the ice.

This is a reminder, that the 2012 LBR "Ice Fishing Derby" will be held in February,"Family Day" weekend. Registration starts February 18 at 9:00 a.m. The derby ends at noon February 20th. As in the past, the entry fee is $5 per person and we provide free hamburgers, hot dogs, juice, goodie bags, and lots of prizes and trophies for the various age groups.

This year we will also have some organized activities and Hot Chocolate for the children. Be sure to pick up the schedule of activities when you register to learn the times, meeting places (if not on the ice) and details of each activity. There will be two on Saturday and two on Sunday. Not mandatory, just fun!

On the fishing derby weekend there is no fishing licenses required for any one.
Alberta has two free fishing weekends each year: the Family Day weekend and one in the summer that coincides with National Fishing Week.

The construction dump is now closed as of Dec. 31, 2011! Trees, branches or Xmas trees can be put by the compost pile in the ring of dirt. This spot is only for trees and branches and will be burnt in the winter!
